Anatolia [17.-22. Dezember]

Enter Turkey and very soon we got the impression that we had left the ‘exotic’/previously unknown countries and entered European realm again: huge supermarkets (beer!), fast mobile internet, good roads, relatively civilised driving, modern (expensive) diesel stations everywhere.

We cut across the northern mountains for a few days, always at high altitude and freezing temperatures at night, towards Cappadocia with its famous rock formations and rock dwellings. We were lucky to be there just before real winter started. We had fantastic weather, not too cold and of course lots of balloons in the morning.
