Russia [17-19 May 2019]

We heard stories that the Georgia-Russia border can be difficult and time-consuming. Surprisingly, we had no issues at all and within less than two hours we were in Russia. Maybe that was because we got there very early in the morning and the border guards were still sleepy.

Just after the border on the first day we were stopped at several police checkpoints, but the police were polite and just wanted to see our passports and take a quick look into the van.

Russia also meant that we had thousands of kilometers to cover, so we hit the highway together with Mariska and Paul from Holland and aimed for Volgograd.
