Qeshm Island was to be our beach holiday before the cold in the north and the way home. Our days shortly before and on the island also coincided with the protests in Iran, triggered by the rise of the price for petrol, which lead to widespread violent protests against the government in many cities. The country leaders reacted with an internet blackout on the mobile networks for almost two weeks. We were not anywhere near any protests but spent some very relaxing days on the beaches and in canyons on Qeshm without any connection to the outside world.
