Lake Baikal [3-11 June 2019]

When driving into Irkutsk, the rain was pouring down and the streets were so flooded that we couldn’t even see the potholes.

Our final stop of our Russian leg of the trip was Lake Baikal. We took the ferry to Olchon Island, drove a few kilometers on a heavily corrugated ‘road’, turned left and found a beautiful bay where we stayed for three days enjoying the peace and quiet. Along the southern and south-eastern coast we found two more fantastic places to spend our nights and then continued to Ulan-Ude, where we got our Mongolian visas. Mongolia here we come!
