Kharkhorin and Orkhon Valley [6-9 July 2019]

A bit further west from the dunes we drove into the lush Orkhon Valley, a very green but also wet place in Mongolia. The tracks were rough and muddy and it was very slow going, but we were rewarded with stunning sceneries.
In a town nearby (Kharkhorin) we attended the Naadam Festival, the most important Mongolian event including horse racing, wrestling and archery, and visited the ancient Erdene Zuu monastery.
