From Osh to Kyzyl-Art Pass [29.August – 12.September]

Osh is the gateway to the Pamir mountains, and there we enjoyed a few days of good food and strolling around the colourful Osh bazaar. On our way to the Tajik border we detoured to the basecamp of Lenin peak, a 7000m high mountain. The white wall before us didn’t look quite like the Matterhorn, but it was nonetheless impressive and breathtaking. Camping at 3000m also helped to adjust to what was to come, as the Tajik border and upcoming stretches of the Pamir Highway were at an altitude of 4000m.
